About Bath
Paddock Punter presents Bath Racecourse, a jewel in Somerset's racing crown. With a history stretching back to 1772, it stands as one of Britain's oldest and most picturesque flat racing venues. Perched over 700 feet above sea level, it proudly holds the title of the highest flat racecourse in the country, offering breathtaking panoramic views across the historic city of Bath and beyond. The track itself is a left-handed, undulating course, roughly 1 mile 4 furlongs in circumference. While renowned for its gallop, it presents a unique challenge with its distinct uphill finish, testing stamina and resolve. Race distances range from a blistering five furlongs, often downhill and very fast, up to extended trips of nearly two miles. Bath is particularly beloved for its vibrant summer evening fixtures, drawing crowds for thrilling racing and a fantastic atmosphere. It might not host Group 1 contests, but its charm, challenging track, and stunning backdrop make it a firm favourite for both punters and racegoers alike.
