About Nottingham

Nottingham Racecourse, nestled in Colwick Park, boasts a rich heritage dating back to the 17th century, before settling at its current flat-racing home in 1892. This popular Midlands venue is a left-handed, oval track, approximately one mile four furlongs in circumference. Known for its fair and galloping nature, Nottingham presents a good test for horses. While largely flat, a subtle undulation in the back straight adds a touch of character before horses enter the long, five-furlong home straight. Races range from the lightning-fast five furlongs right up to a stamina-sapping one mile six furlongs. Nottingham is often seen as a proving ground, with many future stars gracing its turf on their way to bigger things. Although it doesn't host Group 1 contests, its programme is packed with competitive handicaps and quality Listed and Group 3 races, such as the Kilvington Stakes, making it a favourite for both punters and horsemen. It's a proper British racecourse, offering consistent, enjoyable flat racing.
