Comical Point is the one that has me most intrigued. Andrew Balding wouldn't be running this colt if he wasn't confident, and the addition of a tongue-tie suggests they're pulling out all the stops. Oisin Murphy takes the ride, which speaks volumes about expectations. From stall seven, he should get a good position early.
Rydale Frosty comes here off a solid effort last time and David Simcock's horses are in good heart. James Doyle knows his way around Newbury better than most, and this gelding has the tactical speed to overcome the wide draw in nine.

The Verdict
This is a proper puzzle, but I'm siding with Comical Point as the selection. The tongue-tie application, Murphy's booking, and Balding's excellent record with improvers all point to a big run. He's got the class to win this if reproducing his best form.
Advertised gets the vote for place money. The draw is perfect, Stammers' claim is valuable, and Grant Tuer has this colt in great heart. He could easily go one better than my selection.
